Accessibility Statement

Shiki is committed to making visitshiki.com usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnifiers or speech-recognition software.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard widely referenced for accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We consider the site to be partially conformant: we have addressed the main areas below and continue to improve, but some content may not yet fully meet every criterion.

What we've done

• Semantic structure with proper landmarks (header, navigation, main content and footer).
• A "skip to content" link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• Full keyboard operability, with a visible focus indicator on links, buttons and form fields.
• Search with accessible autocomplete (announced suggestions and active option).
• Labelled form fields on the contact and newsletter features, with success and error messages announced to screen readers via live regions.
• A cookie-consent banner that is keyboard operable and exposed as a labelled dialog.
• Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images.
• Respect for the "reduce motion" setting, which turns off non-essential animation.
• Readable, responsive layout that supports zoom and larger text.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas may fall short. We are aware of, and working on, the following:

• Some photography is served from the Unsplash CDN and may carry only general descriptions.
• Advertising and other third-party content embedded on the site is outside our direct control.
• Once account sign-in launches, parts of it handled by third parties (such as a social sign-in provider's own pages) will follow those providers' accessibility standards, not ours.
• External sites we link to (such as Google Maps) have their own accessibility standards.
