Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

By using visitshiki.com ("Shiki", "the site"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. Additional terms may apply to specific features as they're added, and where they do, they form part of this agreement.

Travel information disclaimer

Shiki publishes seasonal travel guides for general information only. Bloom forecasts, festival dates, opening times, prices, transport and other details change frequently and can be wrong or out of date. Always confirm important details — dates, bookings, access, closures, safety and travel requirements — with official sources before you travel or make any plans. We do our best to be accurate, but we make no warranty that the information is correct, complete or current, and we are not responsible for any loss, cost or inconvenience arising from relying on it.

Use of the site

You're welcome to read, link to and share our guides for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't misuse the site — for example by attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, probe or circumvent its security or sign-in, or use it for anything unlawful.

Your account

You don't need an account to read Shiki. If you create one, once sign-in is available — to save guides or use other signed-in features — you agree to give accurate information, keep your sign-in credentials to yourself, and accept responsibility for what happens under your account. Let us know right away if you think someone else has access to it. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to create an account. You can delete your account at any time, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the site or other visitors at risk. How we handle account data is described in the Privacy Policy.

The monthly letter

If you sign up for our monthly letter, we'll email you a short roundup of new guides. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we may stop or change the letter without notice.

What you send us

We love corrections, tips and seasonal finds. Anything you send us through the site — messages, suggestions, corrections — remains yours, but you give us permission to use it to improve and correct our guides, without obligation or payment. Please only send things that are lawful, yours to share, and free of other people's personal information.

Our content and how you may use it

The articles, calendar and other original content on Shiki are ours and are protected by copyright. You may quote or share short extracts for personal or educational use, provided you don't alter them and you credit Shiki with a link back to the original page. Reproducing our content for commercial purposes, or republishing whole articles, requires our prior written permission — get in touch and we're usually happy to talk.

Photography and third-party names

Photography is served via the Unsplash CDN under Unsplash's licence and remains the property of the photographers. Brand names, place names, festivals and trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners; their use here is descriptive and implies no affiliation or endorsement.

Links to third-party sites

Our guides link to external sites (such as Google Maps and others) for your convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices, and a link doesn't imply our endorsement of them.

No warranties and limitation of liability

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss — including damage to your device, lost data, or any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its information.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute relating to the site or these terms is subject to the state and federal courts located in Texas.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and continued use of the site means you accept the changes.
